MENTALISM/MAGIC CRUISE

Questions & Answers

8/01/03 REVISED 10/12/03

Q.

What is the purpose of the cruise?

A.

A great vacation while enjoying the camaraderie of your peers in the world of mentalism and magic.

Q.

How long is the cruise?

A.

Seven days and nights. You leave on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2002 and get back on Sunday

February 8, 2002.

Q.

What mentalism or magic events are scheduled?

A.

The group will be small. While we had planned a lecture, the cruise will possibly have no formal events. The cruise this year will be a great vacation, informal, and unstructured.

Also, we can just meet, share and perform for each other.

Q.

Anything else?

A.

There was a cocktail party planned, but had to be canceled due to the small group. We can still have informal sessions where we can

talk "shop", share ideas, and socialize.

Q.

What time can I board the ship on the departure day?

A.

The earliest boarding is usually around noon, and the ship leaves around 4 or 5 PM. The

Carnival published times for this will be provided to you closer to the cruise date.

Q.

Where are we going?

`

A.

We leave from Tampa, FL, and the ports of call are: Grand Cayman; Costa Maya, Mexico;

Cozumel, Mexico; Belize City, Belize; and back to Tampa, FL

Q.

What does the cruise cost?

A.

The cost for an inside stateroom is $444.00 per person plus $190.90 per person port

charges and government fees/taxes. That totals $634.90 per person for an inside cabin.

An outside stateroom cost is $100 more per person. All rates are based on

double occupancy.See separate Fact sheet for more detail.

Q.

Is there anything else I have to pay?

A.

These prices include all mandatory charges. See fact sheet for more information.

Q.

What about meals?

A

The cruise price includes meals and non-alcoholic beverages such as tea, coffee, milk,

and juices. If you want soda or alcoholic beverages you must pay for them.

Q.

What are the smoking policies on board?

Q.

You cannot smoke in the dining rooms or the theater. You can smoke in your cabin and most

lounges and clubs, and most deck areas. There is a good balance on smoking/non-smoking areas.

Q.

What can I do when in port?

A.

Many excursions are offered at each port of call covering virtually any interest. The excursion

prices vary. You will be given a list describing the excursions on board, or we can provide you

with a list now if you request it.

Q.

Can I get a special diet?

If you have special dietary needs, let us know when you book and we will check with Carnival to

What about tipping?

A.

Tipping is a matter of individual preference. However, the cruise line provides suggested guide lines

to cover your cabin steward, waiter, assistant waiter, and head waiter. The suggested gratuities

for this cruise are $68.25 per person and can be prepaid when you book if you like. You usually

tip those mentioned on the last night of the cruise, but on Carnival it will be automatically put on your "Sign & Sail" card. To change the tip, you will have to go to the purser’s desk. When you purchase beverages a tip is normally added to your tab.

Q.

Is motion discomfort a problem?

A.

Rarely. If you are particularly susceptible to motion sickness, ask your doctor for preventive

medications prior to your sailing.

Never. On a cruise vacation, the entertainment is on the house. There's no cover, minimum, or

charge for an admission ticket. The shows are live, first-rate and all included in your cruise fare.

Q.

What does the ship offer at night?

A.

There's dancing, live entertainment, nightclubs and lounges, and parties. There are

many special events like the Captain's Cocktail Party, Passenger Talent Night, Broadway-style

shows and Las Vegas-type revues. There is also a casino.

The ship has planned activities all day long, including just about anything you can imagine.

You can participate as much as you like or not at all. Do what you want!
